From July 10 to 12, 2025, Mr. Larry K. Agbador, Deputy Executive Director of the Centre for National Distance Learning and Open Schooling (CENDLOS), led a delegation to participate in a transformative Leadership Retreatorganized for the Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellows. Held at the scenic Safari Valley Resort in Adukrom, the event brought together key players in Ghana’s education technology ecosystem for strategic dialogue and collaboration.

The Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship is a visionary initiative aimed at transforming education in Ghana through the power of technology. It supports innovative EdTech entrepreneurs who are developing solutions to improve access, quality, and equity in education. The retreat served as a platform to empower the second cohort of fellows through leadership development, capacity-building sessions, and networking opportunities.

The event welcomed leaders from 12 EdTech companies, alongside industry experts and educational stakeholders. In a keynote session, Mr. Agbador presented an insightful overview of the Ghana EdTech Strategy, highlighting the country’s efforts to create an inclusive, technology-enabled learning environment and the critical role of CENDLOS in leading this national agenda.

CENDLOS extends its heartfelt appreciation to MEST Africa, the Mastercard Foundation, and all stakeholders for their invaluable support in making the Leadership Retreat a success. The event reinforced the power of collaboration in shaping the future of learning across Ghana and the African continent.
