Second Stakeholder Workshop on Ghana’s EdTech Strategy Held in Aburi

The Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Centre for National Distance Learning and Open Schooling (CENDLOS), successfully convened the second stakeholder workshop to develop Ghana’s EdTech Strategy from 22nd to 24th April 2025. The event was held at the Hepzibah Christian Guest Centre in Aburi. This vital workshop brought together diverse participants, including representatives from the Ministry of Education, government agencies, academia, the private sector, industry leaders, and development partners. The purpose was to review, align, and validate the strategic direction of the emerging EdTech Strategy, ensuring its relevance, feasibility, and alignment with national development goals. The Ghana EdTech Strategy is supported by funding from the World Bank Trust Fund and is structured around 13 strategic pillars:

  1. Governance
  2. Management and Administration
  3. Infrastructure and Connectivity
  4. Localized Content Creation
  5. Capacity Building (Training and Support)
  6. Curriculum and ICT Integration
  7. Inclusivity and Accessibility
  8. AI and Emerging Technologies
  9. Cybersecurity and Digital Safety
  10. Data Protection
  11. Data Management and Reporting
  12. Monitoring and Evaluation
  13. Experiential Learning and Innovation

These pillars guide technology integration across all levels of Ghana’s education system, enhancing teaching, learning, and assessment while promoting equity, innovation, and inclusion. The EdTech Strategy aligns with the ICT in Education Policy, the Education Strategic Plan (ESP), and other national digital transformation frameworks. It represents a coordinated national effort to harness the power of technology to improve educational outcomes and prepare Ghana’s learners for the digital future. As the implementing agency, CENDLOS reaffirms its commitment to work closely with the Ministry of Education and all relevant stakeholders to ensure the successful operationalization of the strategy. This includes building systems that are learner-centred, resilient, and responsive to the evolving needs of education in the digital age.
