The Centre for National Distance Learning and Open Schooling (CENDLOS) is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Diyawu Mumin as its new Executive Director.
With a distinguished background in academia and IT leadership, Dr. Mumin brings over a decade of experience at the intersection of education and technology.
Before joining CENDLOS, he served as a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Computer Science, Tamale Technical University, where he played a key role in advancing digital learning, curriculum innovation, and research. Before his academic career, Dr. Mumin served as Operations Manager (Northern Sector) at SocketWorks Global, where he led large-scale IT service operations across multiple educational institutions. His expertise spans disaster recovery, business continuity, capacity planning, and integrating cutting-edge digital solutions in education.
Dr. Mumin holds a Ph.D. in Computer Applied Technology from Jiangsu University (China), an MSc in Information Technology from Sikkim Manipal University (India), and a BSc in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Ghana.
His research and professional interests include:

• Internet of Things (IoT)
• Data Mining & Knowledge Discovery
• Information Retrieval & Systems Security
• Machine Learning & AI Applications in Education
Dr. Mumin has also served as a peer reviewer for internationally acclaimed journals, including:
• IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering
• Annals of Emerging Technologies in Computing (AETiC)
At CENDLOS, Dr. Mumin is poised to lead the next chapter of innovation and inclusivity in Ghana’s digital education landscape. His vision aligns with our mission to expand access to quality distance learning and open schooling for all, particularly girls, youth, and persons with disabilities, in line with national and global education priorities.
